Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited in Glasgow is seeking a cybersecurity professional for HVDC projects to lead system, network and cybersecurity implementations and to develop secured network architectures for SCADA systems. You will work on in-house MACH platform, ensuring vulnerability management, intrusion detection, and coordination with stakeholders.

This is an office-based role in central Glasgow, with no visa sponsorship available. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with network equipment and redundant designs.
• Experience with Windows Server and AD integration.
• Experience with databases and high-availability solutions.
• Experience with scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of intrusion detection, security event monitoring and malware scanners.
• Exposure to SCADA security and HMI systems.
• Knowledge of IEEE/IEC standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead system, network and cybersecurity implementations in HVDC projects.
• Build complete infrastructure of networks and systems to support operations.
• Ensure cybersecurity levels are defined and maintained across systems.
• Develop architecture and functional descriptions for future HVDC cybersecurity solutions.
• Prepare test cases and participate in fault diagnosis and resolution.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to optimize cybersecurity solutions.
• Design a secured network architecture for SCADA with advanced security features.
• Monitor and validate third-party security patches to maintain reliability.
• Implement security features from device vendors and systems.
• Establish controls to prevent backdoor access to SCADA networks.
• Implement intrusion detection systems and SIEM across networks.
• Conduct VAPT and technical audits of SCADA devices and networks.
• Perform physical security surveys for remote sites.
