Job summary

Siemens Smart Infrastructure in Hebburn near Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Senior Control Engineer to support design and delivery of control systems for electrical networks, with a hybrid pattern of office and site work. You will lead and mentor engineers, produce design specifications, configure and test control systems, and ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.

A strong background in SCADA, electrical engineering and Siemens SICAM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in control, automation, or SCADA systems.
• Exposure to electricity transmission and distribution industry (or similar regulated environment).
• A qualification in Electrical Engineering (e.g. HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of communication protocols and network configuration.
• Experience with medium to large-scale control systems.
• Experience with Siemens SICAM or similar platforms.
• Experience in technical leadership and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the design and delivery of control engineering solutions for electrical networks.
• Create and review functional design specifications and I/O schedules.
• Configure and test control systems and communications networks.
• Support FAT/SAT testing at factory and on-site.
• Ensure solutions meet standards and customer requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and participate in design reviews.
• Support tendering and project planning activities.
• Mentor and develop early-career engineers.
