Job Description:

CK Group is recruiting for an experienced Senior Sales Manager with a proven track record in life science sales and a background in protein assay instrumentation, to join a growing biotechnology company at their facilities in Cambridge on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a expanding sales team and lead their growth plans into Europe.

The Company:

Our client is an expanding biotech focused on revolutionising protein research.

Location:

The position is based in Cambridge, UK, with 60% travel within the UK and Europe.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding the client’s European customer base, and establishing relationships with key stakeholders in the biopharma industry.

You will additionally be responsible for:
  1. European sales strategy development—focusing on new and existing customers to implement strategies to achieve short and long-term sales targets and KPIs for the team.
  2. Sales forecasting and reporting.
  3. Representing the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer site visits to build brand awareness.
  4. Engaging with key decision-makers in European biotech and biopharmaceutical companies, contract manufacturers, and research institutions.
  5. Working alongside the marketing team to align efforts and optimise sales opportunities.
Your Background:
  1. Degree qualified in biology, biochemistry, life sciences, or equivalent.
  2. Highly experienced in sales (6+ years), with at least 3 years in a senior role in sales of instrumentation (bioreactors) or related technologies (cell line development, process development) within the biotech sector.
  3. Must have strong knowledge of customer needs in protein assay instrumentation and lab automation in the bioprocessing industry.
  4. Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  5. Experience of delivering success in a start-up company is desirable.
  6. Experience managing customer contacts using a CRM.
