We are on the search for a Senior Sales Manager to join our Sales Management Team, through our Ensinger Ltd, Stock Shapes Division

Location: Tonyrefail Head Office

Type: Full Time

Reporting to: Head of Sales

Purpose of the Role: As a Senior Sales Manager within our Stock Shapes Division, you will take on a pivotal role, directly overseeing sales performance, strategic planning, and team leadership across your assigned regions. Your mission will be to achieve and exceed sales targets, manage budgets and forecasts effectively, and drive profitability through strategic initiatives. This position demands a leader who can inspire, mentor, and empower a dynamic sales team, ensuring both individual and collective success in alignment with our strategic objectives.

Scope & Relationships:
You will report directly to the Head of Sales, crafting and executing sales strategies that complement both the divisional and company-wide vision. Your role involves nurturing our existing customer base, enhancing loyalty, and expanding our reach by attracting new, relevant clientele. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, as well as cross-functional departments, is essential to meet sales and regional objectives. A commitment to continuous improvement, team training, and upholding our corporate values and culture is paramount.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Leading by example and creating culture of professionalism in line with divisional and senior management team expectations.
  • Visiting customers when necessary, including the top 20 customers at least twice per year.
  • Negotiate sales with key decision makers.
  • Preparing Sales targets and forecasts on a quarterly basis
  • Budgeting for all operational costs annually
  • Delivery of sales and volume targets.
  • Manage costs in line with company expectations.
  • Establishing and maintaining senior relationships
  • Maintain a good understanding of the products and services that the company offers.
  • To supply all relevant information of competitor movements and pricing structure.
  • Successfully integrate and efficiently work with all other UK departments to maximise creativity, planning output and sales results.
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of, and maximized pricing policy for, sales quotes and performance objectives.
  • To attend all sales and regional meetings relevant to the role.
  • To plan and carry out sales activities / projects which would help achieve sales turnover targets.
  • Proactively lead continuous improvements and initiatives.
  • To encourage and motivate all members of staff and build a long lasting effective team.
  • Support and empower all staff to make responsible decisions that ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Lead, coach and motivate the team whilst identifying training needs for responsible individuals.
  • Proactively lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ownership of key performance measures to manage, enhance and deliver consistent output to meet the company’s stated objectives.
  • Grow existing customer base by targeting new customers in line with the division’s strategic plan.
  • Take an active involvement in all recruitment for the department, ensuring an active part within the decision process.
  • Conduct annual appraisals with direct reports.
  • Ensure customer quotations are followed up in a timely manner and negotiate when necessary to obtain an order
  • Comply with all Health and Safety rules and regulations as defined in the company’s health and safety management system.

Experience:

  • Previous commercial leadership experience
  • Prior experience of working within a sales management role for a minimum of 3 years
  • Proven success in leading and motivating sales teams, ensuring interpersonal values are maintained
  • A good understanding of profit and loss accounts
  • Creating and implementing strategic sales plans

Qualifications:

  • Qualified in an engineering related subject (Desirable)
  • Management NVQ or higher (Desirable)

Personal Profile:

  • An experienced sales professional, able to demonstrate proven success in growing revenue and profits
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentational skills with a confident and persuasive manner
  • Ambitious and influential, must be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision and exuding a professional demeanor
  • A team player with the ability to actively participate within the team and lead by example, acting in a professional manner at all times
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure
  • Willingness to make decisions as and when needed, particularly in times of pressure
  • Strong leadership, influencing and team management skills combined with a natural ability to inspire and motivate the team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and ERP systems
