Job summary

Ultra Intelligence & Communications is seeking a Safety Engineer to shape and deliver safety and reliability analyses for Cyber UK products. You will lead hazard identification, safety assessments, and FMEA/FMECA, ensuring design decisions meet relevant standards and drive robust, trusted systems.

You will generate high-quality safety documentation, support safety reviews, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed safety early in development and across lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience with hazard analysis techniques (PHA, FHA, FTA, ETA).
• Experience developing and maintaining safety cases with structured arguments and evidence.
• Experience in regulated/safety-critical environments (defence, aerospace, rail, nuclear).
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong problem-solving and proactive, self-motivated approach.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills with multi-tasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazard identification, safety assessments and failure analysis across the product lifecycle.
• Perform safety and reliability analyses including FMEA/FMECA to address design weaknesses.
• Produce safety documentation and ensure traceability to requirements and standards.
• Lead safety reviews and workshops with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Interface with customers, regulators and assurance bodies; support audits and certification activities.
