Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to lead the development and delivery of the Safety Case for certification and safety of flight activities at the Boscombe Down site.

You will manage safety programmes, support bid activities, perform hazard identification, and develop safety plans for aviation and related equipment projects, including ground support systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in safety or aviation related disciplines, or equivalent.
• Experience generating Safety Case reporting and providing expert safety advice.
• Understanding of regulatory governance within the design process.
• Familiarity with hazard identification, risk assessment and management.
• Knowledge of safety engineering tools across project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead project safety activities including hazard identification, risk analysis and management
• Prepare safety and risk management documentation to support certification and PtF activities
• Establish safety and risk management philosophy to meet customer, technical, environmental and regulatory needs
• Interpret requirements and regulatory constraints to support safety arguments
• Maintain hazards and controls register
