Job summary

QinetiQ in the UK is seeking a Fire Safety Manager at the Boscombe Down site to lead fire safety across the UK estate. You will deliver FRAs, provide expert guidance, and drive continual improvements in safety performance while partnering with site teams and regulators.

The role requires professional accreditation (IFE/IFSM), a Level 4 fire safety qualification, and strong knowledge of UK legislation. It is a 37-hour week with travel to other sites and eligibility for SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and engage diverse stakeholders in Fire & Emergency Management.
• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and enforcement bodies.
• Experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments in complex environments.
• Ability to assess risks and provide practical risk-based solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Accredited Fire Safety Adviser with ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of fire safety standards across the UK estate.
• Provide expert fire safety advice and technical support to stakeholders.
• Support FRA programme with site representatives and budget holders.
• Review and maintain fire safety policies and compliance programmes.
• Coordinate fire safety improvement initiatives and performance monitoring.
• Deliver fire safety training and liaise with regulators and authorities.
