Job summary

Amentum in the United Kingdom is seeking Safety Case Engineers to deliver robust safety assessments across major nuclear projects. You will write and review safety cases, lead HAZID/HAZOP studies, and develop compelling technical arguments to satisfy regulatory requirements.

You’ll mentor junior staff, liaise with clients and regulators, and help drive a strong safety culture within a diverse, agile team. This role offers exposure to next-generation reactors and decommissioning programs.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartered status.
• Experience in safety case management within a highly regulated environment.
• Knowledge of nuclear plant systems or structures and related design guidelines.
• Strong communication to convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality technical work to demonstrate safe operation and regulatory compliance.
• Write and review safety assessments and safety case documents.
• Lead HAZID/HAZOP studies.
• Produce and check technical calculations and reports.
• Develop clear, logical, well-structured technical arguments.
• Liaise with clients to understand challenges and develop solutions.
• Represent the business in meetings with clients, regulators, and third parties.
• Mentor junior team members and share best practices.
