Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Safety Case Engineer to support the demonstration that facilities or systems can be operated safely under regulatory requirements. You will write and review safety cases, lead HAZID/HAZOP studies, and develop robust technical arguments for client projects in the nuclear sector.

You will liaise with clients and regulators, develop solutions to challenges, and contribute to mentoring junior team members while sharing best practices across projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in safety case management within a regulated environment.
• Experience in hazard and risk assessment studies (HAZOP/HAZID).
• Knowledge of nuclear licensing and authorisations processes.
• Ability to communicate with clients and stakeholders effectively.
• Strong technical report writing and justification skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality technical work to demonstrate safe operations and regulatory compliance.
• Write and review safety assessments and safety case documents.
• Lead HAZID/HAZOP studies and related risk analyses.
• Produce and check technical calculations and reports.
• Develop clear, logical technical arguments and justifications.
