Job summary

Amentum is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Robotics and Remote Handling Team. The successful candidate will help develop, build and deploy robotic systems for challenging environments across Nuclear, Transportation, Space and Defence sectors.

The role involves collaborating with robotics engineers, mentoring team members, and opportunities for formal training and conference attendance to grow technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Strong background in C++ development and debugging.
• Hands-on experience deploying software in remote hardware systems.
• Experience with testing frameworks (GTest, PyTest) and CI (GitLab, Azure).
• Experience with Docker and package management (APT).
• Familiarity with infrastructure management and license management.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of robotic systems for industrial applications.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partners to develop innovative, best-in-class solutions.
• Support deployment of solutions within the UK and overseas, liaising with related departments.
