Job summary

Unipart is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join their Cambridge/Nuneaton team. You'll contribute to software for Autonomous Mobile Robots and Fleet Management System, supporting live operations on-site and remotely, and collaborating with AMR stakeholders.

The role requires ROS/ROS2, C++/Python proficiency, and strong problem solving. Expect hardware interfacing and integration work across industrial networks in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Robotics experience with ROS/ROS2 and lifecycle nodes.
• Proficient in Modern C++ and Python 3.
• Working knowledge of mobile robotics and sensors.
• Version control with Git.
• Experience with CANopen/SocketCAN protocols.
• MQTT and WebSockets for FMS/WCS integration.
• Ability to work independently in a high-performance team.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for live operations to meet SLAs.
• Develop, maintain, test software for AMR and Fleet Management System.
• Design and deploy vision processing and localisation algorithms.
• Hardware interfacing and troubleshooting industrial networks.
• Collaborate with AMR stakeholders and follow processes.
