Job summary

Amentum is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Robotics and Remote Handling Team in the UK. You will help develop, build and deploy robotic systems for challenging environments across Nuclear, Transportation, Space or Defence sectors.

You will mentor team members, participate in formal training, and travel as needed to deliver innovative solutions with colleagues and partners.

Qualifications

• Experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in C++ and debugging.
• Hands-on experience deploying software in remote hardware systems.
• Familiar with software testing frameworks (gtest/pytest) and CI (GitLab/Azure).
• Experience with containerisation (Docker) and package management (apt).
• Knowledge of infrastructure management, source code versioning and license management.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of robotic systems for industrial applications.
• Collaborate with colleagues to innovate and develop best-in-class solutions.
• Support deployment of solutions within the UK and overseas when required.
• Liaise with other departments and external partners to ensure project success.
