Job summary

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is seeking a Business Risk & Controls Manager to coordinate first-line supervision and strengthen control frameworks for Banking and GTB. You will provide independent challenge to risk owners and drive closure on control weaknesses.

Based at Triton Square, London, you will lead risk and control self-assessments, oversee risk inventories, and support product initiatives while promoting control by design and data quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Extensive Banking and/or Global Transactional Banking experience in a regulated wholesale financial services context.
• Understanding of the components of an operational risk management framework and practical application in a business setting.
• Experience leading small change programmes to time and budget.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Well-developed relationship building, collaboration and influencing skills at all levels.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience in Banking and Financial Markets.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and enhance supervision and control arrangements supporting Banking and GTB.
• Provide independent, constructive first-line challenge to risk owners and oversee control frameworks.
• Identify emerging issues and control weaknesses, ensuring actions are owned, tracked, escalated and closed.
• Support new product initiatives and material business or process changes affecting Banking and GTB.
• Contribute to automation, digitalisation and simplification of risk-management and control activities.
