Job summary

Santander is seeking a VP, Business Risk & Control Manager for Banking and GTB in London. You will coordinate supervision, oversee control frameworks and provide senior management with evidence-based information on control effectiveness.

You will bring together risk information from across functions, identify emerging issues, and ensure actions are owned, tracked and closed. The role requires extensive banking experience and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Extensive Banking and/or GTB experience in a regulated wholesale financial services context.
• Understanding of operational risk management framework and practical application in business.
• Experience in leading small change programmes to time and budget.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Well-developed relationship building and influencing skills at all levels.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Educated to Degree level, or equivalent experience in Banking and Financial Markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate supervision arrangements with regular meetings, MI, actions and escalation.
• Maintain an integrated view of risk and control environment across business, Operations, Risk and Internal Audit.
• Provide constructive challenge to risk owners on risk, controls and issues.
• Oversee development of control frameworks and risk inventories.
• Support Risk & Control Self-Assessments across central and business-specific areas.
• Ensure action owners track, escalate and close identified issues.
