Job summary

Santander UK Finance Governance & Control in Milton Keynes seeks a Finance Risk and Controls Senior Manager to oversee the S-Ox programme and financial control activities. You will report S-Ox and operational risk matters to senior management, coordinate with auditors, and drive improvements across the control environment.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder communication, and experience in risk management within a finance setting.

Qualifications

• Experience managing S-Ox compliance and financial control activities.
• Experience overseeing operational risk and control activities in a Finance environment.
• People management experience, including performance, development and training responsibilities.
• Experience reporting to senior management and working with external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Santander UK S-Ox programme for Finance, maintaining a robust control environment and compliance with the Group S-Ox model.
• Report S-Ox and operational risk matters to Senior Management, Group and BAC as required.
• Liaise with external auditors and use audit findings to improve the control model.
• Support the annual S-Ox certification campaign and deliver independent design and operational effectiveness testing of S-Ox controls.
• Oversee deficiency identification, reporting and remediation, including issues arising from internal audit, external audit and operational risk incidents.
• Support business areas to implement appropriate financial controls when bank changes affect accounting.
• Manage the Line 1 Operational Risk strategy for Finance, including risk reporting, the Finance Risk and Control meeting, policy compliance, RCSA refresh and assurance activity.
• Lead people management in line with Santander UK people and talent policies, including performance, development, training and absence management.
