Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Test Solutions Engineer to join the Test Solutions team at the Luton site, offering hybrid working. The role focuses on developing world-class test solutions for complex electronic and electromechanical systems within the Surveillance and Protection Technologies business area.

You will engage with multiple clients, lead RF/system design efforts, and deliver rigorous test solutions across the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and developing complex Test Solutions for the full lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of the Systems engineering lifecycle.
• Experience working with external suppliers and outsourcing complex work packages.
• Experience of NI LabVIEW and TestStand.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of airborne EW Systems.
• Exposure to IBM DOORS and PDM tools.
• Knowledge of test equipment across platform products.
• Knowledge and understanding of Bus Analysers, Spectrum Analysers, RF Power Meters.
• Ability to make informed decisions from technical sources.
• Excellent communicator and presenter with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage own time across multiple activities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test solutions across RF, digital, and analogue test systems.
• Capture Test Equipment Requirements for RF, Digital, and Analog systems.
• Capture Production Test Requirements for main equipment (PCB and system level).
• Contribute to RF and system design and test/integration activities.
• Assess design integrity before formal design reviews.
• Work across the full engineering lifecycle.
• Engage in engineering meetings and with suppliers.
• Manage requirements to enable design and development decisions.
• Influence requirements and design decisions.
• Produce technical reports and analyses for project decisions.
• Maintain communication with the Project Engineering Manager/Lead.
• Deliver to agreed performance targets.
• Support knowledge sharing and best practice.
• Support IPT decision making at engineering task level.
• Participate in continuous improvement to develop skills.
