Job summary

Leonardo UK in Luton is seeking a Principal Test Solutions Engineer to lead the design and delivery of test systems across RF, digital and analogue domains. You will be the engineering point of contact for complex test solutions and manage subcontracted work to schedule and budget.

You will own requirements, coordinate with suppliers, drive life-cycle design reviews, and mentor teams. Security clearances apply; travel within the UK and Europe may be required; hybrid working applies.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing complex Test Solutions across full life cycle.
• Good understanding of a range of electronic technologies from DC to RF and analogue.
• Experience working with external suppliers and outsourcing complex work packages.
• Experience of NI LabVIEW & TestStand.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent).
• Good schedule planning and budget control experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Strong leadership competency and ability to work in a team.
• Knowledge of engineering life cycle and business processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and technical problem solving to test solution development.
• Create and capture Test Equipment Requirements for RF, digital and analogue test systems.
• Create and capture Production Test Requirements for main equipment, PCB and system level testing.
• Support subcontracting complex test solutions to the supply chain.
• Manage relationships with LEUK and 3rd party suppliers to deliver test solutions on schedule and budget.
• Ensure main product supplier technical queries are resolved promptly.
• Support life-cycle design reviews implementation.
• Identify technical risks and mitigation strategies for test solutions or obsolescence.
• Maintain main equipment configuration baseline with 3rd party supplier information.
• Support integration and commissioning of delivered test solutions.
• Input to Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards.
• Concession management with closure plans.
