Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a senior residential childcare post in the Bromsgrove Short Breaks Service. The role focuses on direct care, activity planning, and liaison with families and professionals.

The post requires a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent, experience with disabled children, and ability to supervise and support safeguarding and regulatory standards. Sleep-ins and shifts are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent.
• Experience of working with children with disabilities.
• DBS check and safeguarding checks required.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with young people to help them achieve goals.
• Build relationships with families and professionals.
• Arrange access to activities for young people.
• Provide high standard of care and support.
• Support the manager with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
• Supervise and monitor team performance and conduct regular supervision.
• Work shifts including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
