Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a Residential Support Worker to join the Bromsgrove Short Breaks Service within the Children’s All Age Disability team. You will support children and young people with physical and learning disabilities and complex health needs during short breaks away from home, building relationships with the young people, their families and other professionals.

The roles are permanent part‑time (20–30 hours per week), with an option to study for a Level 4

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or young people with disabilities.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience in short breaks or disability services is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with young people with disabilities, building effective relationships.
• Help young people work towards their goals and reach their potential.
• Build relationships with families and other professionals.
• Plan activities for young people.
• Support young people during short breaks in a safe, nurturing and fun environment.
