Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker for our children’s home in Tonyrefail, Wales. You will support up to four young people with emotional and behavioural needs, providing therapeutic care in a safe, semi-rural environment.

Responsibilities include leading shifts, modelling positive behaviour, safeguarding, developing personalised care plans, and maintaining documentation. A Level 3 health and social care qualification and a UK driving licence are essential, with

Qualifications

  • Essential QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in care, preferably with children or young people.
  • A full UK manual driving licence.
  • Minimum age of 22.
  • Passion for making a difference and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure.
  • Flexibility for shift work, including weekends and sleep‑in shifts.
  • Basic IT skills and the ability to act as a positive role model.
  • Knowledge of statutory care regulations and health & safety procedures.
  • Desirable: Level 3 qualification specific to children and young people, experience in residential childcare, Welsh speaker, or registration with Social Care Wales.
