Job description

Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader

Provision: Children's Home, 7 to 17, Therapeutic Home, 3 Bed

Salary: Up to £31,000 Depending on Experience (£13.00 per hour, £60 per sleep, and £120 on-call top-up)

Location: Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne

Reporting to: Deputy / Registered Manager

Desired Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR equivalent OR enrolled on

Note: This is a therapeutic home, and experience working in a therapeutic setting is desirable.

Job Overview:

  • Senior Residential Support Workers (also known as Team Leaders) go above and beyond to help children who have experienced a difficult past to forge positive pathways towards a brighter future.
  • Shift Pattern: Condensed shifts of two days on, four days off, with an additional day per month on average.
  • Holiday entitlement: 210 hours
  • Additional leave after 2 and 5 years of service

Main Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Assistant/Deputy Manager, you will be the lead practitioner on shift, mentoring, supporting, and coaching new team members. Drawing upon your extensive experience, you'll manage challenges that arise. No two days are the same. If you enjoy problem-solving and making a difference in a child's life, we encourage you to apply.

You will collaborate with education and therapy consultants, as well as colleagues from the wider sector, always keeping the children at the center of your work. You'll have the support of a dedicated, compassionate, and like-minded team committed to the well-being of both the children and the community.

What we are looking for:

Ideally, you have achieved a Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Residential Childcare / Children and Young People’s Workforce. Experience in Residential Children's Services or similar settings working with children with therapeutic needs is preferred.
