Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Reading to lead inspections and risk assessments for raw water and service reservoirs. The role supports Section 10/12 duties and delivers recommendations influencing safety and investment decisions.

This hybrid position offers 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary up to £65,000 depending on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent reservoir/dam discipline.
• Supervising Panel Engineer status under Reservoirs Act 1975, or progressing towards panel status.
• Experience in reservoir engineering, inspections, asset management or dam safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspections and condition assessments of raw water and service reservoirs and related infrastructure.
• Support statutory undertaker duties, including Section 10 and Section 12 inspections and recommendations.
• Identify and manage reservoir safety risks and deterioration mechanisms affecting compliance and resilience.
• Produce clear technical reports, recommendations and guidance for operational and investment decisions.
• Provide reservoir safety advice to the Reservoir Safety Manager and stakeholders.
