Job summary

And Yorkshire Housing Limited in Swarcliffe is looking for a Senior Repairs Team Leader to drive responsive repairs, empty homes and planned works with hands-on leadership of trade operatives and repairs supervisors.

You will coach and develop your team, ensure health & safety and compliance, monitor performance via KPIs, and coordinate with contractors to deliver quality on time. A UK driving licence and flexibility for out-of-hours work are required.

Qualifications

• Strong experience of Health & Safety and property maintenance compliance.
• Understanding of delivering services to cost, quality and timescale.
• Experience of managing subcontractors.
• Great planning and organisational skills, particularly when it comes to workforce planning.
• Confidence using data, KPIs and systems to understand how a service is performing.
• Ability to keep your cool when priorities change.
• Real passion for developing people and continuously improving the service.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support our trade operatives and repairs supervisors, creating a team where people feel valued, listened to and clear about what’s expected.
• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of responsive repairs, empty homes and planned works, hitting standards and targets.
• Get ahead of workforce challenges, making sure we’ve got the right skills and resources available to meet demand.
• Champion health, safety and compliance, making sure work is carried out safely and to the standards we expect.
• Keep an eye on performance and spot potential problems early, stepping in before they become bigger ones.
• Manage subcontractor performance and make sure we’re getting the quality and service we expect.
• Take ownership when things don’t quite go to plan, including customer complaints.
• Coach and develop your people, helping them build their skills and encouraging the whole team to keep improving.
