Placements24 on behalf of our client seeks a forward-thinking Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer to join their team in East London. The role focuses on the design, integration and optimization of electrical systems for solar and wind projects, delivering sustainable energy solutions in a hybrid work environment.

You will perform power system studies, specify equipment such as inverters and switchgear, ensure compliance with electrical codes, and collaborate with project managers and site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
• Minimum 5 years in electrical engineering; at least 2 years in renewable energy.
• Proficiency in power system simulation software (PVSyst, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Strong understanding of grid interconnection requirements and energy storage systems.
• Experience with AC/DC converters and power electronics is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for renewable energy generation facilities, including solar PV and wind turbines.
• Perform power system studies, including grid interconnection analysis, load flow, and protection studies.
• Select and specify electrical equipment such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and renewable energy regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to oversee installation and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot and optimize the performance of existing renewable energy electrical systems.
