Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Research Engineer in East London to advance renewable energy technology through hands-on prototyping, testing, and computational modeling. The role blends laboratory work with data-driven analysis in a collaborative environment.

You will work on solar, wind, or battery energy projects, leveraging MATLAB/Simulink and CAD tools, and publish findings to support sustainable energy innovations in a hybrid London setting.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or energy-related field.
• Experience in renewable energy research including design, testing and analysis.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink and CAD tools.
• Strong grasp of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics or electrical circuits as they apply to energy systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to work in lab and office environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a hybrid East London setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test prototypes for renewable energy systems or components.
• Perform performance analysis and characterization of energy devices with relevant equipment.
• Develop and implement computational models to simulate and optimize energy systems.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers on research projects.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Stay current with renewable energy tech and contribute to new research directions.
