Job summary

Scrums.com is seeking an Intermediate Forward Deployed Engineer to join the talent network. You will work closely with customers, translating real operational problems into production software and applied AI workflows.

You’ll configure and extend the AI agent harness, integrate customer systems and deploy solutions through the Software Engineering Orchestration Platform. This hands‑on role requires moving between discovery, code, data, deployment and customer conversations with support from

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering, data engineering or ML engineering experience.
• Production experience with Python and working knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience integrating REST APIs, databases and third‑party services.
• Working knowledge of SQL and modern cloud development practices.
• Familiarity with large language models, retrieval, tool calling, prompt design or agentic workflows.
• Ability to debug unfamiliar systems and explain technical decisions clearly to customers and teammates.
• A degree in computer science, engineering, data science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer problems into production software and AI workflows.
• Build and maintain applied AI applications, agents, automations and integrations using Python and TypeScript.
• Configure tools, context, permissions, evaluations and guardrails within the Scrums.com AI agent harness.
• Deploy, observe and improve customer solutions on the Software Engineering Orchestration Platform.
• Connect models and agents to APIs, databases, enterprise apps and data sources.
• Write production‑quality code, tests, documentation and runbooks for your workflows.
• Investigate incidents, triage support requests and resolve defects with guidance.
• Measure workflow quality, reliability, latency and cost, and implement improvements.
