Job summary

Amazon UK Services Ltd. is seeking a Senior RME Technician to lead maintenance of automated packaging and material handling equipment across EU sites. The role involves guiding a shift team, driving improvements, and ensuring safety and uptime.

You will implement new technologies like SCADA-based monitoring, standardise processes, and collaborate with line managers to optimise operations while supporting career progression within the RME team.

Qualifications

• 4 years UK certified apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights and holidays.
• Experience as a technical lead in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments.
• Strong English-language communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate best practice on using equipment safely and monitor teams to ensure correct processes.
• Monitor equipment performance through visual checks and maintenance tasks; schedule servicing as required.
• Supervise technicians on shift and act as first point of contact for RME engineers.
• Resolve equipment issues to reduce downtime and increase package processing speed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and standardisation across the EU network.
