Qualifications

The Opportunity

Are you ready to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact? As a Senior Reinsurance Accountant you’ll take the lead in processing, analysing and reporting complex financial transactions in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll own reinsurance finance interfaces, deliver accurate reconciliations, off‑system journals and ensure insightful analytical reviews.

Your New Role
  • Own all reinsurance finance interfaces and manage inputs for upstream and downstream system platform integrations
  • Prepare and review reinsurance accounting entries including premiums, claims and commissions
  • Perform Reinsurance to General Ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Create and maintain off‑system reinsurance journals
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external reinsurers to manage queries and settlements
  • Deliver insightful analytical reviews and prepare clear, concise commentary to explain variances and trends
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements within the reinsurance accounting function
About You
  • Full or part professionally qualified accountant or equivalent level of experience
  • Extensive experience in reinsurance or insurance accounting is a must for this role
  • Knowledge of facultative and treaty reinsurance structures and reinsurance calculations is preferable
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in data analysis and reconciliation procedures
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft or SAP
  • Experience with system changes implementations and database modelling is desirable
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and trust at all levels internally and externally
