Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group in the Midlands invites a seasoned SME/commercial banking leader to head the Black Country and Shropshire Trading Team. You’ll manage a portfolio of key clients, guide a high-performing team and shape strategic delivery with regional directors.

The role is hybrid, requiring at least one office day per week and time with clients; strong governance, risk and regulatory compliance focus. Develop local business plans and growth strategies with impact.

Qualifications

• Proven SME or commercial banking leader with accountability for a significant client portfolio and team performance.
• Strong track record of growing client books and income.
• Experience leading Relationship Director and Relationship Manager teams.
• Demonstrated experience managing senior client relationships and influencing at senior levels.
• Expertise in credit, risk and trading, including oversight of complex client structures.
• Comfortable operating within a regulated environment with governance and risk focus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to strategic leadership and planning of the Sector in partnership with the Regional Director.
• Motivate, develop, mentor and appraise team members to deliver stretch business goals.
• Develop the capability of the Relationship team and run local business plans for client portfolios.
• Provide oversight to client proposals to meet requirements and identify opportunities to grow income.
• Regularly evaluate team performance against objectives and manage risk and compliance.
• Support relationship management of clients and introducers across segments, engaging with senior client stakeholders.
• Promote the bank's image and develop new business opportunities in the local market.
