Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group is seeking an SME Area Director to lead the Black Country and Shropshire Trading Team across Birmingham and neighbouring areas. You will mentor a high-performing team, manage a diverse client portfolio, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic outcomes.

The role requires significant leadership in relationship management, credit and risk oversight, and regulatory governance within a hybrid working pattern.

Qualifications

Proven SME/commercial banking leadership with a large client portfolio.
Experience leading REL Director/Manager teams and driving performance.
Strong governance, risk, and regulatory oversight within banking.

Responsibilities

Lead Black Country and Shropshire Trading Team within Sector leadership.
Motivate, develop and appraise team members to deliver stretching business goals.
Develop local business plans and client portfolios with compliance in mind.
Oversee client proposals, drive income, and implement appropriate solutions.
Engage with complex clients at senior levels to secure opportunities.
