Overview Of The Role

The Senior Manager for Recruitment is the accountable lead for talent procurement into the business. They work collaboratively with the Business Partner network, HR Director, and hiring managers to enhance the recruitment process and candidate experience at Space NK. They serve as an internal consultant on hard-to-fill vacancies, understanding effective mechanics to achieve positive outcomes.

This role provides dedicated support to Corporate Support Office recruitment during a period of continuous growth and oversees recruitment activities across Retail Stores through a team of Advisors. They will also support seasonal peak recruitment across Retail Stores and the Distribution Centre.

They will define and control recruitment analytics for business-wide reporting and act as an employee and culture champion, promoting Space NK as an excellent place to work by leveraging social media and other branding tools.

Role Accountabilities
Stakeholder Relationships
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders and field management across the UK, ensuring the People Team is central to the organization and supports commercial objectives.
  • Deliver a candidate-focused recruitment process that emphasizes quality and speed for hiring managers.
Project Management
  • Contribute to the development of the People function by scoping, defining, and executing projects to improve effectiveness and employer branding (EVP).
  • Lead HR initiatives and change programs, such as upgrading our Applicant Tracking System to enhance recruitment experience.
Recruitment
  • Handle recruitment for the Corporate Support Office in areas like Marketing, Finance, Technology, and Distribution.
  • Manage retail store recruitment through the team, empowering store managers to co-steer their recruitment processes.
  • Develop talent pools for high-turnover areas, planning externally across identified verticals and brands.
  • Collaborate with agency partners for critical or niche roles, ensuring effective market access.
  • Lead contract negotiations for renewal processes.
Operational Management
  • Work with Payroll/Reward and Operations to evaluate roles and ensure market competitiveness.
  • Price new roles, benchmark salaries, and manage the ATS system to maximize efficiency.
  • Oversee right-to-work checks with partners, monitor recruitment KPIs, and develop training materials for hiring managers.
Collaboration
  • Work with the Senior People Partner and wider team to identify change opportunities and support team activities.
  • Monitor recruitment volumes during peak seasons and adjust team support accordingly.
People Management
  • Coach and develop team members through constructive feedback, fostering high performance.
  • Upskill team members for growth opportunities.
