Job summary

Mace Construct Limited in London is seeking a Senior Design Manager to safely manage, coordinate and assure the design for Network Rail elements of the HS2 Euston scope. You will lead the Design Management Organisation and be accountable for self-certification of the works under the main contract.

You will drive value-led design, build high-performing teams, and ensure compliance with NR standards and collaboration protocols throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Leadership in NR procedures NR/L2/RSE/02009 & NR/L2/CIV/003 and stakeholder management.
• Excellent English communication skills for project and board reporting.
• Proficient in BIM, AutoCAD and collaborative platforms.
• Extensive experience managing multi-discipline design projects from concept to construction.
• Experience on rail/London Underground facing works.
• CSCS and Sentinel cards.

Responsibilities

• Develop the design to be safe, buildable, operable and compliant with standards and project requirements.
• Set SMART targets to drive team performance through the plan.
• Lead value-driven design and collaboration across the team.
• Develop and implement a Design Management Plan and BIM Execution Plan with a SMART deliverables schedule.
• Provide assurance that the works are designed in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design, manage interfaces and design reviews.
• Ensure designers are qualified and competent.
• Package designs to support construction programme.
• Ensure design supports operation of Network Rail Euston and LU networks.
• Comply with collaboration and quality principles.
