Job summary

WSP is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Rail Civil Engineering team, delivering design for Stations & Platforms, Depots, level crossings, and civil infrastructure across UK projects. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop safe, compliant, and economical solutions.

You will benefit from mentoring toward CRE status, structured professional development, and opportunities to lead technical outputs while working with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject accredited by the Engineering Council.
• Chartered or Incorporated Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or nearing Chartered or Incorporated status.
• Experience delivering and managing all stages of multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initial studies through to detailed design.
• Working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, British/European Standards, Eurocodes and Codes of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Civil Engineering design for Stations & Platforms (new & existing), Depots, level crossings and civils infrastructure.
• Lead on drawings, reports and specifications, ensuring high-quality outputs with the wider team.
• Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to a culture of shared success.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Technicians, clients and contractors to meet programme milestones.
• Contribute to bid work and strategic development of the Rail Civil Engineering team.
