NQCC at UKRI's National Quantum Technologies Programme seeks a Senior Quantum Scientist (AMO) to advance neutral atom quantum computing in the NAQC team.

You will design, build and deploy open-source hardware, develop experiments, and contribute to scalable platforms while collaborating with engineers, scientists and external partners.

This role offers strong development opportunities and hands-on lab work in a cutting-edge national program in Oxfordshire.

Formación

• PhD-level or equivalent experience in physics, engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of quantum computing and related technologies.
• Hands-on experience with neutral atom systems or related quantum tech.
• Experience designing, automating experiments and developing control software.
• Ability to communicate results and work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilidades

• Design and optimise neutral atom quantum computing sub-systems.
• Develop experiments to characterise performance and qubit fidelity.
• Integrate sub-systems into full-stack quantum computing platforms.
• Contribute to system-level design, scaling strategies and interfaces.
• Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
