Job summary

OnSite is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the West Midlands on key water projects. You will manage on-site commercial activities, coordinate with operations and subcontractors, and ensure adherence to contract requirements to deliver contracts successfully.

The role involves cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and preparing valuations, with responsibilities across risk assessment and commercial reporting.

Qualifications

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC / HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with relevant QS experience.
• Knowledge and experience in the utilities/civil sector, preferably water industry.
• Familiarity with NEC3 & 4 contracts and JCT.
• Ability to persuade, influence and negotiate.
• Full driving license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost records, programme changes, productivity, and profitability with controls.
• Manage subcontractor orders, contract performance, and support valuations and budget monitoring.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, CVRs, and handle valuation applications and final accounts.
• Provide contract expertise, resolve disputes, and attend contract negotiation meetings.
• Conduct progress reviews, report costs and contractual issues, and support large tenders.
• Participate in post-contract reviews and suggest improvements for future projects.
