Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s social housing division in County Down. You will lead cost control, commercial reporting, and client liaison across Reactive Repairs, Voids and Planned Maintenance projects.

You will manage valuations, variations, and final accounts, reviewing SOR pricing and ensuring value recovery while coordinating with operations to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline required.
• Experience in the social housing sector preferred.
• Strong knowledge of JCT, NEC and other common contract forms.
• Experience with Schedule of Rates (SORs), including NHF SORs.
• Proven experience managing valuations, variations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, CVRs, cashflow management and commercial reporting.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of commercial and financial awareness.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and commercial management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of maintenance contracts from inception to final account.
• Prepare and submit monthly valuations and applications for payment.
• Measure, price and validate works using SORs; review pricing and value recovery.
• Produce and manage budgets, forecasts, cashflow reports and CVRs.
• Assess, negotiate and agree variations and additional works.
• Administer contracts and ensure contractual compliance.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and performance.
• Negotiate with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to maximise commercial outcomes.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure project delivery.
