Job summary

Global Recruitment Group currently seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing contractor focused on Social Housing repairs and maintenance in Scotland. The role involves managing commercial aspects across multiple contracts, valuing works, controlling costs and ensuring profitability, with a strong emphasis on SoR adherence and accurate financial records.

You will prepare valuations, monitor budgets and liens, liaise with clients and contract managers, and support tender pricing.

Qualifications

• Social Housing/Repairs & Maintenance sector knowledge.
• Experience managing costs, variations and payments.
• Knowledge of Schedule of Rates (SoR) and NHF/NHF or similar.
• Strong numerical, analytical and Excel abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of allocated contracts.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment, quotations and variations.
• Ensure completed works are valued and billed promptly.
• Apply Schedule of Rates (SoR), ideally NHF/NHF.
• Monitor budgets, costs, margins and WIP.
• Review labour, materials and subcontractor costs to protect profitability.
• Liaise with clients and Contract Managers to resolve commercial queries.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities to maximise revenue.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and update job management systems.
• Support tender pricing and contract performance reviews.
