Build Recruitment in Slough is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK maintenance and refurbishment contractor. You will support the commercial team on social housing and planned maintenance projects, handling cost control, valuations, procurement, and final accounts.

The role offers exposure to the full commercial lifecycle, working with experienced Quantity Surveyors and operating within a fast-paced housing sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying.
• Experience in social housing, planned maintenance, refurbishment, or related services.
• Understanding of commercial and financial principles.
• Familiarity with contracts such as JCT or NEC.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with commercial management of social housing and planned maintenance contracts.
• Support budgets, cost control and forecasting.
• Assist with valuations and payment applications.
• Monitor costs and identify commercial risks.
• Assist with variations pricing and final accounts.
• Support subcontractor procurement and payments.
• Maintain commercial records and project documentation.
• Support with commercial reporting and cost/value reconciliation.
• Collaborate with site and operations teams for accurate information.
• Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ensure procedures and contractual requirements are followed.
