Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support commercial delivery on a rail-focused portfolio including station and infrastructure projects. The role is based from our offices in Blackfriars, Gravesend or Basingstoke, with travel across the Southern Route.

You will bring NEC contract expertise, experience in subcontract procurement, and strong financial/negotiation skills to manage multiple projects within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, infrastructure or rail.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC forms of contract.
• Experience managing subcontract procurement and commercial administration.
• Strong financial, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience mentoring junior commercial professionals.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial delivery of a varied programme of station and infrastructure projects.
• Role can be based from Blackfriars, Gravesend or Basingstoke with travel across the Southern Route as required.
• Work across the Buildings Portfolio to deliver improvements to rail infrastructure and stations.
