Job summary

VolkerWessels UK is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Buildings Portfolio as part of the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE). You will support commercial delivery on a range of rail infrastructure projects across Network Rail's Southern Route, including station and M&E works, with involvement across offices in Blackfriars, Gravesend or Basingstoke.

You will bring proven Quantity Surveyor experience, NEC form knowledge, and strong stakeholder management to drive commercial success

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, infrastructure or rail.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC forms of contract.
• Demonstrable experience managing subcontract procurement and commercial administration.
• Strong financial, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience working within the rail sector and Network Rail environment.
• Knowledge of station, building, M&E or accessibility projects.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Membership of, or working towards membership of, RICS, ICES or a similar professional body.
• Experience mentoring junior commercial professionals.

Job description

As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will play a key role in supporting the commercial delivery of a varied programme of station and infrastructure projects. This portfolio includes station enhancements, Access for All schemes, M&E projects, accommodation buildings, and associated rail infrastructure works.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional who enjoys working across a diverse project portfolio and wants to play a key role in delivering improvements to the railway.

The role can be based from our offices in Blackfriars, Gravesend or Basingstoke, with travel across the Southern Route project portfolio as required.
