Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for the Buildings Portfolio within the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE). You will support commercial delivery on a varied portfolio of station and infrastructure projects across Network Rail's Southern Route.

The role offers offices in Blackfriars, Gravesend or Basingstoke with travel across the Southern Route. A commercially astute professional with rail experience is sought to lead procurement and financial

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction, infrastructure or rail.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC forms of contract.
• Demonstrable experience managing subcontract procurement and commercial administration.
• Strong financial, analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience working within the rail sector and Network Rail environment.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Membership of, or working towards membership of, RICS, ICES or a similar professional body.
• Experience mentoring junior commercial professionals.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial delivery of a varied programme of station and rail infrastructure projects.
• Manage NEC contract administration and subcontract procurement.
• Provide financial reporting and value engineering across projects.
• Liaise with stakeholders across Network Rail and project teams.
• Mentor junior commercial professionals.
