Job summary

Kier Group, based in Salford, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for its Rail & Aviation team. The role focuses on commercial excellence across infrastructure projects, managing the quantity surveying function on allocated projects, and ensuring robust commercial control to maximise value and protect profitability.

You will work within a governance framework and be pivotal in delivering successful outcomes for clients, with day-to-day duties including payments, forecasts, KPIs, and risk

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor on construction, infrastructure or rail projects
• Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, including NEC contracts
• Experience managing subcontract accounts and preparing payment applications
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to identify risk and opportunities

Responsibilities

• Taking commercial responsibility for allocated projects and maintaining strong client and supply-chain relationships
• Managing subcontract accounts from procurement to final account
• Preparing and submitting payment applications and monitoring certifications
• Producing monthly reports, forecasts and KPIs to support decision-making
• Proactively managing commercial risks and opportunities with the operations team
