Job summary

AVK-SEG seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to own commercial delivery on major power and infrastructure projects in the UK, with some Europe travel. The role is hybrid, based in the UK with 3 days on site and occasional overseas work, embedded with the project team from procurement through final account.

You will lead commercial control, procure subcontracts, manage valuations, and drive cost reporting while coaching junior QSs and ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in large construction/infrastructure projects.
• Strong subcontract background.
• 5+ years managing £20m+ projects from start to finish.
• Full final account experience (client and subcontract).
• Strong cost control and forecasting.
• Variations and claims experience.
• Comfortable leading multiple packages and projects in parallel.
• Experience leading and coaching others to achieve goals.
• Excellent Excel and commercial reporting capability.

Responsibilities

• Full project commercial control from contract award to final account.
• Subcontract procurement, negotiation and contract placement.
• Subcontractor account management, valuation, payment and final account.
• Client applications and valuations.
• Cost control, forecasting and CVRs/CBRs.
• Variations, claims and change management.
• Programme and cost recovery.
• Commercial support to PMs and engineers.
