Job summary

AVK-SEG seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to own commercial delivery on major power and infrastructure projects in the UK, with some Europe travel. The role is hybrid, based in the UK with 3 days on site and occasional overseas work, embedded with the project team from procurement through final account.

You will lead commercial control, procure subcontracts, manage valuations, and drive cost reporting while coaching junior QSs and ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in large construction/infrastructure projects.
• Strong subcontract background.
• 5+ years managing £20m+ projects from start to finish.
• Full final account experience (client and subcontract).
• Strong cost control and forecasting.
• Variations and claims experience.
• Comfortable leading multiple packages and projects in parallel.
• Experience leading and coaching others to achieve goals.
• Excellent Excel and commercial reporting capability.

AVK-SEG is a market leading specialist contractor delivering power infrastructure for data centres across the UK. Our commercial teams oversee pricing, partnerships, supply chain, contracts, and manage the profitability of our major projects.

We are recruiting a Senior QS to take full commercial ownership of major power and critical infrastructure projects, based in the UK with occasional travel to Europe.

This is a UK based, hybrid delivery role, based 3 days per week in the office or client site (which could include ad-hoc overseas working). You will be embedded with the project team, running jobs commercially from procurement through to final account.

Requirements

• Proven experience running large construction or infrastructure projects commercially (5+ years)
• Strong subcontract background
• 5+ years managing £20m+ projects from start to finish
• Full final account experience (client and subcontract)
• Strong cost control and forecasting
• Variations and claims experience
• Comfortable running multiple packages and projects in parallel
• Experience leading and managing QSs (or ready to step into that)
• Commercially sharp
• Delivery focused
• Strong Excel and commercial reporting capability
• Comfortable leading and coaching others to achieve common goals

Preferred

• Project experience in Data Centres, Critical Power, Standby Generation and Power Infrastructure
• Sector experience in Logistics, Installation and Commissioning
