AVK-SEG, a market leading specialist contractor delivering power infrastructure for data centres across the UK, is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor. The role supports Commercial Teams across Pods in a hybrid setup, with 3 days in office or client site, possibly overseas.

Training and career development are a focus, with an apprenticeship pathway and potential part-time degree options. The position involves procurement, cashflow forecasting, contract documentation, and cost reporting,

Qualifications

• GCSEs with above-average grades in Mathematics and Information Technology.
• Eligible for apprenticeship pathway sponsored by AVK.
• Career changers from mechanical/electrical trades or finance backgrounds may be considered.
• Entry level roles may lead to NVQ/degree or professional qualifications through part‑time study.

Responsibilities

• Assist with procurement: issue tender enquiries, evaluate, and prepare contract records.
• Prepare and monitor cashflow forecasts for projects.
• Manage application, certification and invoice schedules for Subcontractors & Suppliers.
• Assist with preparing client variations and applications.
• Prepare Job Cost Reports (JCRs) and support project accounting.
• Monitor Supply Chain KPIs and update databases for the Commercial Team.
• Maintain records and assist with commercial department tasks.
• Input data for analysis and support Pod objectives.
