Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in procurement and commercial management of infrastructure projects to lead pre-contract commercial activities and support major programmes. The role emphasizes NEC4 contract governance, cost control, and risk management from tender through procurement.

The position requires NEC3/NEC4 experience, senior procurement leadership, and stakeholder management across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Experience leading procurement and tendering in large, high-value projects.
• Proven ability to prepare cost estimates, commercial reports and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-contract commercial activities across major infrastructure and engineering projects.
• Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, benchmarking exercises and commercial appraisals.
• Develop and implement procurement and commercial strategies aligned to project objectives.
• Prepare tender documentation, manage tender processes, and conduct detailed tender evaluations and negotiations.
• Support NEC4 contract documentation and associated commercial schedules.
• Identify, assess and price commercial risks and opportunities throughout bidding and procurement stages.
• Collaborate with bid, engineering, planning, procurement and project delivery teams for commercial alignment.
• Ensure governance, contractual obligations and industry best practice compliance.
• Support supply chain engagement, subcontractor selection and due diligence activities.
