Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/CSA) for Data Centre Projects

Job summary

PE Global Recruitment, on behalf of a leading European data centre delivery specialist, seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor with MEP/CSA experience to join the Blyth project team.

You will own commercial activities across your area, collaborating with project managers, engineers and site teams to maintain cost control and support successful delivery of a major hyperscale data centre programme in the UK.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Quantity Surveying experience is required.
• Experience across cost management, procurement, subcontract administration and commercial reporting is essential.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures is expected.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the commercial management of designated project areas from procurement through to completion.
• Develop and maintain project cost plans, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Lead commercial input into the procurement of subcontractor and specialist packages.
• Manage tender processes, including reviewing commercial submissions and supporting subcontract negotiations.
• Oversee subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments and final account settlement.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets and forecasts, identifying potential commercial risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Package Managers, engineers and site teams to provide commercial guidance.
• Review and manage contractual documentation, ensuring relevant records and notices are maintained.
• Assess changes to scope and support the commercial management of variations and additional works.
• Prepare and review applications for payment, valuations and other commercial submissions.
• Attend project, commercial and site meetings, providing updates on financial and contractual matters.
• Provide commercial advice to the wider project team and support informed decision-making.
