Job summary

Sustainable Infrastructure is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/CSA) for a major data centre project in Blyth, UK. You will lead commercial and contractual management of packages, ensure cost control, procurement, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle, and work with Project Managers, subcontractors and the wider team to deliver value.

The role requires eight+ years' experience in construction quantity surveying, strong knowledge of contracts, and proven ability to manage budgets,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• 8+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying in construction.
• Experience with large-scale projects and cost control.
• Strong knowledge of contracts and procurement.
• Excellent negotiation and financial management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned packages throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare, review and manage budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Lead procurement activities, including subcontractor selection, tendering and contract negotiations.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and proactively identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Package Managers and site teams on cost and commercial management.
• Ensure contractual and commercial documentation is maintained accurately and up to date.
• Attend commercial meetings, site meetings and project reviews.
• Evaluate and manage change orders and variations in accordance with contract requirements.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Provide commercial advice and support to project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions and project procedures.
• Prepare financial and commercial reports for senior management.
• Proactively identify, manage and resolve commercial and contractual issues.
• Support the successful commercial close-out of packages and projects.
