Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major HS2 infrastructure project in Greatworth. You will oversee commercial and contractual packages, administer NEC contracts, and lead change control, cost reporting, and stakeholder reporting.

The role requires strong NEC3/NEC4 knowledge, proven CVR and final accounts experience, and a track record on civil engineering projects. A driving licence and leadership of junior staff are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience administering NEC contracts, compensation events, cost reporting and commercial management in major infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of designated project packages.
• Administer NEC contracts, including compensation events, early warnings, notifications, and change management.
• Prepare and manage project cost reports, forecasts, budgets, and CVRs.
• Assess and certify subcontractor applications and payments.
• Lead procurement activities, including tender evaluations and subcontract awards.
• Manage variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Monitor project performance against budget and programme targets.
• Ensure accurate commercial reporting to senior management and project stakeholders.
• Work closely with operational teams to identify risks and opportunities.
• Support the Commercial Manager in achieving project financial objectives.
• Mentor and develop junior commercial staff where required.
