Job summary

McCarthy Recruitment Ltd in Dagenham seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial management on a major energy infrastructure project. You will oversee valuations, cost reporting and subcontractor accounts throughout the project lifecycle.

Applicants should have NEC contract experience, strong commercial acumen and a background in infrastructure or major construction, with a clear path to career progression within a well‑established contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or ready to step up
• Strong NEC contract knowledge
• Infrastructure, utilities, energy, civil engineering or major construction experience
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness
• RICS/ICES membership or working towards chartership is desirable

Responsibilities

• Preparation of valuations and applications for payment
• Cost reporting and commercial forecasting
• Management of subcontractor and supplier accounts
• Procurement and commercial administration
• NEC contract administration and change management
• Compensation Events and commercial risk management
• Agreement of final accounts
• Supporting project teams with commercial advice and guidance
• Identifying opportunities for value engineering and cost optimisation
